Why May Flowers?

Trio of Organic Oil Tinctures for women

As two women in a world where we’re bombarded with options for every product, we want to make CBD simple for you.  Our mission is to provide the cleanest, high quality, non-toxic products using organic CBD that you can trust putting into your body.  From menstrual cramps to childbirth to menopause, the female body endures constant changes and challenges and we’re here to help navigate life’s “showers”.

We partner with only the best growers and manufacturers. Not all hemp is created equal, which means not all CBD is the same either.  Organically grown hemp is extremely important because hemp is notorious for effectively absorbing any chemicals or toxins in the environment around it.

In fact, after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, thousands of acres of hemp were planted to clean up and remediate the damage to the soil.  Given hemps amazing bioremediation ability, we take the farming process very seriously, so no heavy metals or toxins inadvertently end up in our products.

We source only the best ingredients including hemp grown under USDA Organic standards. Our Oil tinctures are fully USDA certified Organic, which is actually harder to come by than you may think! Fully USDA certified organic CBD products are few and far in between.  Our process for the highest quality CBD breaks down like this:

Best in Class Farming

Every product in the May Flowers line up starts with natural proprietary strains of hemp that are high in CBD. All of the hemp we use is grown in the United States and our farmers operate under strict guidelines while using state-of-the-art farming processes.

The farming processes also take a green approach using water saving practices. Not only does this enhance the quality of our strains, but it also makes sure our products are safe, regulated and unsurpassed in their potency and consistency. Most importantly, we’re doing our part in trying to minimize our footprint.

Our CBD oil is extracted in cGMP compliant facilities, which have the highest manufacturing standards. The hemp is extracted using a proprietary Co2 gentle process that does not involve harsh solvents that can damage the beneficial compounds found in the plant. The result is the most pure and potent possible extract for our products.

THC Removal on our Broad Spectrum Products

One of the most important steps in producing our range of broad spectrum products (excluding the full spectrum oils) is using our proprietary technology to extract even the smallest traces of THC and other unwanted compounds.

THC is the compound found in cannabis that produces the “high” associated with the plant. As you can see on our lab reports, our Broad Spectrum products contain no detectable (0.0%) THC. Working women, we got you! Because we remove all THC, our Broad Spectrum CBD products will not show up on a drug test.

Testing & Transparency

Before any batch is released for use, it goes through rigorous third-party lab testing. Each batch receives the most comprehensive testing available:

  • Microbial: including E. coli, yeast, mold
  • Potency: to ensure what’s on the label is in the bottle
  • Heavy metals: lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium
  • Pesticides: 60 total.

Many companies claim to be organic or use to high quality premium ingredients but do not offer transparency to their customers.  Each of our products includes a QR code linking to both the internal lab reports on the raw oil and the third-party independent testing on the finished product. We bring you all of the wellness benefits of CBD without any of the harmful additives commonly found in generic CBD products.

CBD Basics

CBD is one of many cannabinoids found in hemp strains of the Cannabis Sativa plant. Each Cannabinoid interacts with your body differently and produces different effects on the body.  Just like our Nervous System, we have a system called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) that is nourished and sustained by cannabinoids like CBD.

It’s responsible for harmonizing all other systems within our bodies and for things like our mood, memory, sex drive, appetite and pain. Your body naturally produces its own Endocannabinoids, but just like any nutrient, we may be deficient and need some extra nourishment.

If you ever feel like your hormones are out of whack: like one minute you’re feeling on top of the world and the next you’re feeling anxious- it could be an off balance ECS system.  Enter CBD! A premium CBD formula using organically grown hemp, feeds your ECS and keeps your systems running harmoniously. The goal? Cool, calm, collected no matter what the circumstances.

Effects of CBD

There is a full range of reasons that people use CBD in their daily routine. We’ll break down a few of the most common here. It’s important to remember that CBD with less than .03% THC does not give you any of the intoxication associated with the plant. That’s the awesome thing about May Flowers CBD, you get all the therapeutic relief and mood-lifting effects of THC without any mind altering effect and its 100% legal.

On Mood

CBD is commonly used to support emotional stability and overall mental wellbeing. CBD has potential abilities to act on the brain’s receptors for serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and social behavior.  Serotonin is often referred to as the “happy molecule” because of its ability to improve mood and regulate stress. It is a key hormone that stabilizes our mood, feelings of well-being, and happiness. It also helps with sleeping, eating and digestion.

On Sleep

Another common use for CBD is to help people create normal healthy sleep cycles and fight sleeplessness. Some research has indicated that CBD may interact with specific receptors, potentially affecting our sleep cycles. In addition, it can aid in promoting calm, reducing unrest, anxiousness and pain, all which can interfere with restful sleep.

On Pain

CBD products can offer an alternative and holistic route of relief for people who have persistent muscle and joint pains, soreness, headaches, and menstrual cramps, all without causing drug intoxication and dependence. Many people take CBD as a natural alternative to Aspirins and Ibuprofens.

Types of CBD

Full Spectrum CBD with other cannabinoids
Full Spectrum

Both full spectrum and broad spectrum hemp is rich in cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, all of which have unique therapeutic abilities when working together.
Full spectrum CBD leaves in tact trace amounts of THC. Research points to the existence of an entourage effect, which means when multiple plant compounds are present alongside CBD, the effectiveness and benefits are increased.

Broad Spectrum

Broad spectrum CBD is similar to full spectrum except it does NOT contain any THC whatsoever. This means that there is absolutely no THC in the bloodstream. Like Full spectrum, you can still reap the benefits of the remaining cannabinoids and resulting entourage effect. However, there is no worry about THC showing up in your bloodstream with broad spectrum products.

Molecular structure of CBD Isolate

Isolate is a type of hemp extract that only contains CBD with no other cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. Research has found that CBD’s effectiveness is greater when as many of the cannabinoids are left to work together synergistically. For this reason, we do not offer isolate products. We not only believe in delivering the highest quality products, but the most effective as well.

Dosage Guidance

Every woman’s body is different which means dosing is not a one size fits all approach. The goal is to find the lowest most effective dose that works for you. Taking too little will not produce the desired effect and will be a waste of time and money. On the other hand, taking more than you need may not provide additional desired benefits.

This means experimenting. Some women may only want or need it once a day, some may require more. Just remember CBD works best when its used everyday the way you would take a vitamin- consistency is key!

Strength of Product: Determining the strength or concentration per serving is important.  Most full droppers are 1ml of oil. Dividing the total amount of CBD in the bottle by the total amount of mL will determine the strength or concentration.  You may need to take more or less of any given product, depending on what this concentration is.  See the dosage graph below to see our strengths per serving.

Body Weight: A person’s body weight can play a role on how much CBD is necessary to bring the desired calming effect.  In general, heavier people may need a heavier dose to experience the same effects a lighter person might feel with that same dosage.

Discomfort level: The severity of the ailment is that’s being treated largely determines the serving size necessary to mediate it.  For those with higher levels of pain, discomfort or anxiety for example, may find they need a higher dose than someone with mild stresses/ailments.

Tolerance: It is possible to develop a higher tolerance to CBD over time of consistent use.  Higher doses may be needed to achieve the same results.

Dosing Guidance Graphic for different CBD strengths

Something to remember when dosing: 1 full dropper is 1ml of product. To use, hold under your tongue for 60 seconds, then swallow. We find most women land on 20-40mg per day.

You can also choose to bundle the oil with the softgels for a more comprehensive approach, but can combine any way you feel comfortable. For Example:

For daily stress management and rest and relaxation at night:

Daily Oil Drops – 1/2 dropper in the morning
Daily Oil Drops – 1/2 dropper in the afternoon
Daily Softgels with Melatonin – 1 with dinner

Daily softgels – 1 with breakfast
Daily Drops or Everyday Softgels for Sleep- 1 full dropper at night or 1 Softgel
